We Need to Save Electricity Now!

We need to save something important! We need electricity! Today, people take electricity for granted. We need to do something now to conserve electricity. Let us look at the importance of natural sources such as oil and natural gas, and the use of solar energy.
We have been using our natural resources to generate electricity and for other products. Oil, coal and natural gas take along time to be formed and cannot be replaced quickly when they are used up. This can affect the amount of electricity produced of if we cannot find alternative source of energy.
Solar energy is an alternative but it is very expensive and not many people can afford it. The panels needed for solar energy takes up a lot of space. Solar energy can be used only when the sun is shining. Thus solar energy may not be the best alternative source.

Our survey shows that some people do not about energy saving bulbs and do not switch off appliances after using. 12.5% of the people never use energy saving bulbs. 30% of the people no not know about energy saving bulbs!

Our resources are running out. We are still looking for a good alternative source of energy. Meanwhile, help to conserve electrical energy now........before it is too late.

How I spent my holiday (Blog #4)

I spent my holiday by studying, revising, doing my homework and best of all is that I spent it by playing.Computer games(most of the time), playing at the playground and going out.
I did not really have a fun time as I had to study everyday but, it is my fault.If I did not do bad in my exams, I could have played everyday and revise once in a while.
So now I will try to do better in my end-year exams.

Trip To Malaysia (Blog #3)

On 16 June, Friday, my family and two of my aunties went to Malaysia.One of my aunt, Aunt R, and her family had already reached Malaysia the day before.My family drove to Jurong to pick up my auntie,Aunt S.We checked our passports and soon we were off.
Once we reached Malaysia we went to Larkin wet market to eat.After that, we looked around for a suitable bag for my brother but found none
Aunt R was staying at a hotel called 'Mutiara Hotel'.My family spent about half an hour looking for the hotel!After we reached there, I went into the swimming pool to swim.My dad and I swam for approximately 3 hours. After I changed and bathe, I watched 'Charlie's Angels' with my cousins.We played a short game of 'Snap' and I ate snacks and food.
Once 'Charlie's Angels' finished, I played 'Treasure Hunt' with my cousins.Then we played a sort of pyramid game.Everyone will lie down on each other in a pyramid sort of way with the biggrst, which was my dad, to the smallest, which was my younger sister.My father had to try to get up from the big pile on him......He won everytime!Another game was to hold him down whle he tried to wriggle free.I held his leg down while my cousins sat on his back, bottom and held down his other legs and hands.He always won that but I was always the last one to cling onto him before letting go.All of us had a try.It was fun!
My dad also brought us to a closing mall.We bought a few CD's.My two cousins and I played in the playground.Though it was just a baby playground, we did have a lot of fun.We climbed up the top of the slides and jumped down from other parts of the playground.We also played 'Follow The Leader'.When it was time for us to go back to the hotel,we bought ice-creams!
Once we reached the hotel, we stayed for about another 2 hours.Soon it was 12 midnight.My famiy and Aunt S went to another place in JB(Johor Bahru), a dry market.Aunt R and her family were staying for another night at the hotel.
The dry market was a usual place for us.Everytime we go to JB, we will go to the dry market to eat and buy CD's.After we bought our CD's and ate food, we ventured home wearily.
It was a fun and tired journey!

Syaza's Birthday Party (Blog #2)

My younger sister,Syaza,had a birthday party at a chalet.It was the biggest and most expensive birthday party she ever had in her life.About 120 people were coming.
She is now 5 years old and she is no more the Queen.The rule in my family is that if you are below 5 years old,you are the Queen.No one is allowed to bully you even though you mess up their things....except for my parents.They have the right to teach and scold you.You are underage and cannot think properly,that is why we have this rule.
Anyway,since Syaza is still young,we will be organizing games for the little children.Their ages are ranging from aproximately 2 to 9 years old.The games that were held were "Simon Says",a tracing contest for Primary Ones and below,a quiz contest about Syaza,a "Scissors,Paper,Stone" contest and a hair-tying contest.The prizes were stationary or a small bouncy ball.
After the games were over, we celebrated my cousin's birthday with a cake.Her birthday falls on the same day as Syaza!I ate a slice of the ice-cream cake and went back inside the Games Room which was my family's room.
I took a small container which lots of goodies in it.Only some of my cousins were inside.The rest were outside eating or going home.I told my cousins to guess the price of the goodies.If they guessed correct,the goodies would be theirs!As they guessed,Igave them clues and finally,one of my cousin,Salwa, guessed it correct.The answer was S$3.25.
After that,I watched televison(TV)until the show ended.Then I went to change my clothes for it had chcolate cake at the bsck.The it was time for Syaza's turn to cut her cake.I dressed her into her 'princess' dress and hairband with roses on it.I had a slice of the cake then went into my cousin's room.I was going to sleep[ there.My parents were going back.
Since we could not sleep tat night,we stayed up untill about 2 am.I watched a show called "The Sketch Show" with my elder sister.It was a show which has a few funny short shows that my sister and I laugh.After that, we slept peacefully.
When I woke up the next morning,my cousins were already entertaing themselves with funny games for they were bored and had nothing to do.I joined them and taught them a few games.After that they got ready to swim inside a swimming pool.Syaza wanted to go too but she had no swimming costume.I decided not to go swimming and accompanied Syaza to eat food.Soon,my parents came.They bought a swimming costume for Syaza and I wound up going to Wild Wild Wet!While Syaza swam in the swimming pool with the others.I went with my brother and his 2 friends,Ashley and Zheng Xian.We rode all the rides there were.When I got bsack,I realized that all of my cousins went to Escape Theme Park!I was left behind!So I watched Toy Story 2 ,then ate untill they came back.After that,I played with my younger cousins un till it was bedtime.I wanted to stay up late bvecause I wanted to watch "The Sketch Show".But I did not appear.So I watched a chinese show and fell adleep while watching "Extreme Makeover".But I woke up,switched off the TV,slept and woke up again just in time to see my cousin crying and thrashing about for her mother.My mother and I sent her back to the other room and then went back to sleep.
When I woke up the next day,I felt sleepy and slept untill 10.30 a.m.Then I rushed to bathe before having breakfast at Burger King.
I felt sad that the party was over and that I had to go back but I did enjoy staying at the chalet.

My Holiday Activities (Blog #1)

On the 1st week,I have running lessons, tuition trials and a stop-motin programme.
On the 2nd week, I will be going to my sister's birthday party and going for running lessons.
On the 3rd week, I have only running lessons.
On the last week, I only have a video-editing programme.
After school reopens, I will have a P5 mathematics trail at the Changi Airport with my schoolmates.

Those are my holiday plans!

My Biome Home

The biome I would love to live in the most is the Rainforest.
It has different animals for me to play and care for, the ground is moist and soft.
Lovely rain showers for me to bathe in,I will be clean thoroughly.
Tall trees for me to climb.
Mostly the ones with plenty of juicy fruits.
I will never be starved!
And once the dark, starry night appears,I will sleep in the heart of the shrubs..........

Raffles Almighty

• • I think that the name 'Raffles' is so highly respected/regarded/popular because he founded or helped that particular company, hotel, plant or school.
  • If you found a new species of plant or found a new building, I am sure you would want to name it after you right?
  • So it goes the same with Raffles.I am sure that people are very grateful to him for his help.I am also grateful....are you?

Adventure Camp

Today was adventure camp day.I went to line up with my class.The teacher said that all of the P5s were going to be split up into 14 groups.
I was in group 1 .Our teacher was Miss Tan Wei Wei and our instructor was called Kai.We were told to think of a group name.We decided to call it SARS.It stood for Super Active RangerS.After that, we had a short recess, then we boarded the bus to the Adventure centre.
We went to the fire access area and waited for instructions.We unpacked our things and put it in our dormitories.The instructor talked some more and then we had lunch.When we finished, Kai brought us to the playground.
The first thing we played was Flying Fox. I went first.I was so scared!The feeling was so scary but after that, it was great.We also played Indiana Jones .We had to figure out how to get the rope so we could swing.In the end, we used shoelaces and a small water bottle.
After that, we sang songs, then had dinner then we sang more songs. When we finished, we went for a night hike.My friends and me were scared when walking through the forest.We looked at the Moon and rested.When we got back,we had our supper and shower before sleeping.
The next day, we did our morning stretches then had breakfast. We went for another hike but it was in the morning.I was tired and sweaty but quite happy.Kai then brought us to play "Spider Web".After that, we did outdoor cooking.Kai again brought us to the playground to play. We climbed up the log and balanced on the rope.It was not really fun except that I felt like I was floating!
When we finished, we went to the rock climbing wall.When it was my turn, I felt a little wobbly but I managed to climb up to the 10th panel and touch the chain.I climbed the highest. I was so happy!We had our dinner then did area cleaning. We had to cleaned the boys domitories.After that, we practiced more songs for the campfire.
When it was the campfire we sang songs and watched other groups performing.We performed badly and as a result, we did not win any prizes.
After that, we took our things and boarded the bus to school.My dad came to fetch me home.I had a lovely bath before going to sleep.
I wish that there were more of this kind of camp!
